Affiliate Marketing Critical Success Factors – Part Six

A - Maintain Web Pages that are free of clutter

To fill your website with a variety of affiliate program

advertisements, may seem like a great way to increase

revenue streams, but it could cost you thousands of dollars

in the long run.

Some potential customers automatically get turned off when

they see a webpage cluttered full of different sales

products. It becomes confusing to them and they move on to

another website fairly quickly. If it so happens that you

are working with more than one affiliate program it becomes

important to dedicate one page at least to each program. It

is even better, and deemed as much more professional to

actually dedicate a separate domain name and site to each

affiliate program that you are involved with.

B - Dedicated Web Pages

If you dedicate a whole page to one affiliate product you

are showing your commitment to that program. Your page

should preferably be uncluttered and not full of Google

Adsense ads, or ads for other programs or services. A small

area on either the top or side of the page could be used for

these type of ads, but try and avoid cluttering your page with

them. My recommendation would be not to use them at all

on these pages.

You don’t want to give your visitor too many options on

your page, as one of the highly beneficial characteristics

of a good affiliate marketing sales page is its ability to

be both informative and positive. It will typically offer

potential customers the chance to become intrigued about a

program or product, just enough for them to decide to click

on the link, and then immediately afterwards go to the main

affiliate sales page of your program.

C - Dedicated Domain

Having a whole website dedicated to a specific product will

provide instant credibility for you. In addition, domain

names are not very expensive these days and other relatively

inexpensive programs are available for maintaining the page.

You also do not need to be a computer whizkid to get a basic

website developed that can act as your information site for

an affiliate program you are working with.

Dedicating a whole site to one product, gives you the

flexibility of expanded options through offering

informative articles and other information on your site

that will continue to entice your potential customers to

click on the relevant links. A dedicated domain name is by

far one of the very best ways to inform your potential

customers of the benefits that your product or service can

offer them. Irrespective of whether you decide to go with a

dedicated web page or a dedicated domain, the main idea is

always about simplicity and consideration for your

potential customers.

An aesthetically pleasing website will win customers over a

cluttered and hard to understand site, most of the time.

The above guidelines does not have to be strictly adhered

to when you are operating mainly through blogs. Weblogs

after all, are meant to be interactive with lots of

information related to the theme or title, as long as you

do not have conflicting information.
